What to Expect During Your Visit
A typical glaucoma evaluation includes comprehensive testing and consultation
Medical History Review
We'll discuss your medical and eye history, family history of glaucoma, current medications, and any vision concerns.
Eye Pressure Measurement
Tonometry test to measure intraocular pressure (IOP), a key indicator of glaucoma risk.
Angle Assessment
Gonioscopy to examine the drainage angle and determine the type of glaucoma.
OCT Imaging
Optical Coherence Tomography using Zeiss equipment (gold standard) for detailed optic nerve imaging.
RNFL Analysis
Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer assessment to evaluate optic nerve health and detect early damage.
Visual Field Testing
Perimetry test to assess peripheral vision and detect any vision loss patterns.
Note on Visual Field Testing
For more accurate results, Visual Field / Perimetry testing is best performed earlier in the day. Patients who require this test are encouraged to schedule morning appointments (from 9:00 AM onward) whenever possible.
Consultation with Dr. Puja Sheth
After all tests are completed, Dr. Puja Sheth will review your results, explain findings in clear, patient-friendly terms, and discuss recommended next steps including treatment options if needed.

Initial Evaluation
A full glaucoma evaluation may take 60-90 minutes, depending on testing requirements.
Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up visits may be shorter (30-45 minutes), depending on the treatment plan.
Follow-Up and Ongoing Care
Glaucoma requires long-term monitoring to protect vision
Follow-up frequency is determined by the disease stage and individual risk. Consistent monitoring allows early adjustments to treatment if needed.
